Sh. Sharad Kumar Lagwal

Born on 7th July 1971 in Shillong, Meghalaya, he completed his M.A. in Geography in 1994, followed by an LL.B. in 1997. He also obtained an M.A. in English from Himachal Pradesh University, an MBA in Finance in 2002 from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and an LL.M. in 2008 from Kurukshetra University.

He began his legal practice at the District Court, Hamirpur, in 1997. On 22nd January 2005, he was appointed as Assistant District Attorney/Assistant Public Prosecutor for the State of Himachal Pradesh. In 2012, he was promoted to the post of Deputy District Attorney/Public Prosecutor.

On 4th August 2015, he assumed charge as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kangra at Dharamshala. He later served as Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (CBI Court), Shimla, from 29th December 2018 to 3rd August 2021.

Upon placement, he assumed charge as District and Sessions Judge, Chamba, on 9th August 2021 and served there until 1st February 2023. Thereafter, he joined as Legal Remembrancer-cum-Principal Secretary (Law) on 2nd February 2023 and served in that capacity until 4th October 2025. Subsequently, he assumed charge as District and Sessions Judge, Solan, in the forenoon of 6th October 2025.
